Giants Unveil Exciting Changes for 2023 Season at Oracle Park
SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — Baseball is back at Oracle Park, and the San Francisco Giants are eager to welcome fans to the upcoming season.
Renovations and Enhancements
As the new season nears, the Giants have organized a preview event showcasing notable upgrades within Oracle Park. A standout renovation is the transformation of the iconic Coca-Cola bottle located above the left field bleachers.
Giants CEO Larry Baer mentioned, “Now we’re doing a whole LED around it. And especially at night with it lit, it’s going to really pop. Last year, we started a new lighting program and we’re actually going to be adding to it.”
Fans will also notice an array of improvements around the park, including:
- New food and beverage areas
- Enhanced patios and plazas
- A fresh selection of souvenirs
A Celebration of Oracle Park’s 25th Anniversary
This season marks a significant milestone, with 2023 being the 25th anniversary of the Giants at Oracle Park. Baer highlighted the team’s aspiration to elevate the venue to an American classic, drawing parallels to timeless ballparks such as Wrigley Field and Fenway Park.
“I think baseball is unique in many ways because they have ballparks, whether it’s Wrigley or Fenway or Yankee Stadium that do stand the test of time,” Baer stated.
New Culinary Offerings
The Giants are also expanding their food options this season. Noteworthy additions include:
- A variety of ramen dishes
- Elote dogs
Local Collaborations
Giants Chief Marketing Officer Rachel Heit shared insights on the team’s new partnerships with local businesses, stating, “Part of our strategy is that we want to work with thought leaders and influencers in the Bay Area and the city of San Francisco. And so we will be working with creators across food, fashion, music, and video gaming.”
A Promising Season Ahead
As spring training wraps up, Baer made an ambitious promise intending to rally the fanbase: “If we go through the baseball season 80 and 1 with our home record, because we have 81 home games, I will jump in McCovey Cove and swim from right field to left field.”
The Giants are set to kick off their home opener against the Seattle Mariners on April 4.
