San Francisco Launches Earthquake Recovery Task Force
San Francisco, CA – In the aftermath of yesterday’s earthquake, San Francisco officials have established a dedicated task force to oversee recovery efforts. The Earthquake Recovery Task Force will coordinate with state and federal agencies to expedite repairs, restore utilities, and support displaced residents.
“Our priority is to rebuild quickly and equitably,” said Mayor Carla Alvarez. The task force’s initial focus is on clearing debris in affected areas like the Mission District and SoMa, where structural damage was most severe.
Community organizations are also stepping in, with shelters providing food and temporary housing to those in need. City officials estimate that full recovery could take months, but they are committed to ensuring a swift and transparent process.
