San Francisco Zoo Announces Endangered Species Conservation Grant
San Francisco, CA – The San Francisco Zoo has been awarded a $5 million federal grant to expand its endangered species conservation programs. The funding will support breeding initiatives, habitat restoration, and public education campaigns focusing on species like snow leopards and California red-legged frogs.
“This grant allows us to deepen our commitment to protecting the planet’s most vulnerable animals,” said Zoo Director Emily Ramirez. The zoo plans to use part of the funds to enhance its California Wildlife Exhibit, which opened last year.
Animal lovers celebrated the announcement. “The zoo’s work is so important, especially with so many species at risk,” said frequent visitor Carla Chen. The zoo will also host conservation workshops for schools to raise awareness among young audiences.
