Traci Des Jardins Launches School Night in San Francisco
Renowned chef Traci Des Jardins, celebrated for her acclaimed restaurants in San Francisco such as Jardiniere, Arguello, and Public House, has recently ventured into a new domain with the opening of her first bar, School Night.
A Unique Weeknight Concept
Situated in the vibrant Dogpatch neighborhood, School Night distinguishes itself as the first bar in San Francisco designed specifically for weeknight gatherings, operating from Sunday to Wednesday. This establishment is housed within The Pearl, a popular two-story venue that regularly hosts high-profile events, including the recent premiere of HBO’s “Westworld.”
Collaboration with Expert Mixologist
The drink menu at School Night is crafted by Enrique Sanchez of Arguello, who infuses a Peruvian twist into the cocktail offerings. The focus lies on a variety of spirits, especially pisco, agave, and whiskey, creating an enticing array of cocktails for patrons.
Peruvian and Mexican Culinary Influences
In addition to the innovative drinks, Des Jardins has designed a menu that mirrors the Peruvian and Mexican flavors found in her other establishments. A central feature of the menu is a Bertha wood-fired oven, which chefs use to prepare a variety of dishes, including:
- Verduras en escabeche
- Fideo with oven-roasted clams
- Devil’s Gulch costillas served with tomatillo barbecue sauce
- Grilled achiote-marinated Wolfe Ranch quail
