June 21, 2025 — Manchester, Connecticut — The annual Manchester Food Truck Festival kicked off its weekend celebration at The Shoppes at Buckland Hills, drawing families, foodies, and festival-goers to a bustling display of culinary creativity and community pride. From June 20–22, the event offered free admission, a rotating roster of over 25 food trucks, and a vibrant array of local artisans and entertainers.
With its emphasis on health-conscious and locally sourced ingredients, the festival catered to a range of dietary preferences and tastes. Guests sampled organic-braised brisket, vegan empanadas, bubble waffles, gluten-free pastries, and classic American staples like slow-roasted pork sliders. One standout vendor, serving up those sliders, described the event as “a gathering that brings community spirit through food,” capturing the essence of the weekend.
Artisan booths lined the festival walkways, featuring handmade jewelry, upcycled home goods, and specialty bath and body products, reinforcing a commitment to sustainability and regional craftsmanship. A dedicated kids’ zone included bounce houses and games, while live performances from local musicians and DJs kept the energy high throughout the day.
A marquee addition to this year’s festival was Sunday’s “Pride on the Sun Patio” event hosted by Mohegan Sun. In honor of Pride Month, the celebration included drag performances, a DJ set from Edgewood, and a lively lip-sync battle featuring Connecticut drag stars such as Kenya Mone Heart, Ambrosia Black, and Gabriella Diamante. The event blended seamlessly with the festival’s inclusive and community-forward atmosphere.
Organizers praised the turnout and highlighted the festival’s role in advancing Manchester’s reputation as a lifestyle and culinary destination. The event has grown into a seasonal anchor for regional small businesses and a welcoming space for community gathering and cultural celebration.
The festival also partnered with Bistro Buddy to host evening “After Events” at the nearby Funny Bone Comedy Club, extending the experience for adult attendees and local performers.
With Connecticut’s festival season now in full swing, the Manchester Food Truck Festival stands out not only for its culinary flair but also for its cultural inclusivity and support of local entrepreneurship. It continues to define summer weekends in the region with a blend of food, music, and shared celebration.
