Giants to Host Brewers in Upcoming Series at Oracle Park
Homecoming After a Long Absence
The San Francisco Giants are returning to Oracle Park for a highly anticipated four-game series against the Milwaukee Brewers, starting on Monday. Fans will finally get to see their team at home after an extended absence, with the last game held on April 9 against the Cincinnati Reds. The Giants recently completed an 11-day road trip that took them through three cities, facing the New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, and Los Angeles Angels.
Special Weekend Celebration
In addition to the Brewers series, the Giants have a special event planned for the weekend. On Saturday, they will honor former player Brandon Crawford, a key figure in the franchise’s history. Crawford contributed to two World Series victories and earned accolades such as three All-Star selections and four Gold Glove Awards. His recognition ceremony is scheduled during a weekend that coincides with a series against the Texas Rangers, enabling his former manager, Bruce Bochy, to attend.
Series Preview
The Giants will face a strong Brewers team over the next four days, with games scheduled for Monday through Thursday at Oracle Park:
- Game 1: Monday, 6:45 PM (PT) – Giants’ Robbie Ray (3-0, 4.19 ERA) vs. Brewers’ Quinn Priester (1-9, 0.90 ERA).
- Game 2: Tuesday, 6:45 PM (PT) – Giants’ Jordan Hicks (1-2, 6.04 ERA) vs. Brewers’ Jose Quintana (2-0, 0.71 ERA).
- Game 3: Wednesday, 6:45 PM (PT) – Giants’ Logan Webb (2-1, 2.40 ERA) vs. Brewers’ Freddy Peralta (2-1, 1.91 ERA).
- Game 4: Thursday, 12:45 PM (PT) – Giants’ Landen Roupp (2-1, 4.09 ERA) vs. Brewers’ Tobias Myers (season debut).
Pitching Matchups
In the opener, Robbie Ray, coming off his least effective outing where he allowed six hits and four earned runs against the Phillies, will aim to bounce back. In contrast, Priester is looking to build on his recent success, having no-hit the Detroit Tigers over five innings in his last start.
On Tuesday, Jordan Hicks will face off against the Brewers’ Quintana, who has been impressive this season, navigating an injury-plagued rotation. Following this, ace Logan Webb will take the mound against the Brewers’ top pitcher, Freddy Peralta, who has demonstrated a solid performance, having not allowed an earned run in his last appearance.
The series concludes with Landen Roupp facing Tobias Myers. Roupp comes off a strong performance with a career-high nine strikeouts against the Angels and will be challenged by Myers as he makes his season debut after a rehab assignment.
Looking Ahead
This series not only marks a return to home turf for the Giants but also sets the stage for an exciting weekend as they honor one of their all-time greats. Fans can expect high-energy games as the Giants seek to capitalize on their home advantage against a determined Brewers squad.
