21st Annual Walk for Life West Coast: Advocating for the Unborn
Date: January 25, 2025 | Location: San Francisco, CA
A Gathering of Hope
On January 25, 2025, downtown San Francisco will resonate with the voices of thousands of pro-life advocates participating in the 21st Annual Walk for Life West Coast. This event aims to amplify the message for the unborn and celebrate the value of life.
Inspired by the Message of Hope
The rally and subsequent walk align with the themes put forth by Pope Francis in the Bull of Indiction for the 2025 Jubilee of Hope. The Pope emphasized, “For the desire of young people to give birth to new sons and daughters as a sign of the fruitfulness of their love ensures a future for every society. This is a matter of hope: it is born of hope and it generates hope.”
Growing Participation Over the Years
Eva Muntean, co-chair and co-founder of the Walk for Life West Coast, expressed the event’s ongoing mission: “We agree! Since day one, the Walk has tried to be an avenue to hope.” Over its two-decade history, the event has expanded significantly, now featuring an impressive display of supporters along a mile of San Francisco’s Market Street, proudly showcasing their pro-life signs.
A Meeting of Voices
Mirroring the March for Life held in Washington, D.C., the Walk for Life West Coast will kick off with a rally that includes testimonies from influential pro-life speakers. Notable speakers scheduled to address the crowd include:
- Ryan Bomberger, author and advocate, whose life story emphasizes the impact of his birth despite a challenging beginning.
- Sister Deirdre Byrne, doctor and retired U.S. Army colonel, who serves the community as a member of the Little Workers of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
- Kelly Lester, who has spoken about her personal struggles with rape, abortion, and her spiritual journey to Christianity.
- Rev. Clenard Childress, Jr., founder of Black Genocide, who actively promotes the pro-life message within the African American community.
