Deomodore Lenoir received a contract extension from the San Francisco 49ers before the team’s Week 11 game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Then, on Saturday, the newly selected cornerback received some good news from the NFL, further lining his wallet.
Lenoir avoided a fine for a personal foul call, but as a result he received a warning for unnecessary roughness late in the second quarter.
The foul occurred during a volatile situation late in the second quarter, when Lenoir and Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III were flagged for an altercation after a third-down play.
Because the fouls were offset, the 49ers did not pay for the incident, and neither Lenoir nor Walker were fined by the league.
Even if the league were to fine Lenoir, it would be unlikely to curb his aggressive style of play. That’s the key to his continued great play in the 49ers’ secondary.
Lenoir will be crucial to the 49er defense Sunday. With Brock Purdy and Nick Bosa both out, he will be tasked with keeping Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers in check in a likely game against the Niners.
