One of the great joys of traveling to different places is the opportunity to compare the situation with that of your own city or country. Revisiting for the first time in a few years gives you a different kind of enjoyment as you can better assess the impact of the changes that have taken place over that time.
Over the past two weeks, I’ve had the opportunity to travel again to both London and San Francisco. I thought the differences between both places were interesting.
When I went to the entrance to the baggage trolley express, which was ready, it wasn’t open and no one knew when it would be running. Apparently, the civil engineering work that had been going on all night was not completed on schedule. What about alternative options for the Elizabeth line? Same problem.
The kind staff assured us that all was not lost as credit cards were accepted at the turnstiles. So, after a rather awkward transfer at Earl’s Court (luggage trolleys are not allowed on the Tube), we arrived at our hotel. Huh!
