San Francisco Celebrates Valentine’s Day with Community Spirit
Despite ongoing challenges, San Francisco embraced Valentine’s Day with a mix of romance and community events. Couples flocked to local restaurants offering special prix fixe menus, while pop-up flower markets and artisan gift fairs brought festive energy to neighborhoods across the city.
One of the highlights was the annual “Pillow Fight” at Justin Herman Plaza, where hundreds of participants gathered for a lighthearted celebration of love and fun. “This is why I love San Francisco—it’s quirky and full of surprises,” said attendee Carla Martinez.
Mayor Daniel Lurie used the occasion to encourage residents to support local businesses and reconnect with one another. While the day brought joy to many, some business owners reported lower turnout, citing ongoing concerns about public safety.
