San Francisco Unveils 2040 Climate Action Roadmap
San Francisco, CA — City leaders unveiled an ambitious new Climate Action Roadmap today, outlining steps to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040. The plan includes transitioning to 100% renewable energy, expanding public transit, and mandating green retrofitting for buildings.
Mayor Breed called the roadmap a “blueprint for a sustainable future” but acknowledged the challenges ahead. “This is a commitment, not just a plan,” she said.
Environmental groups applauded the effort but emphasized the importance of swift action. The roadmap will go to the Board of Supervisors for approval next month.
