Aidan Braccia Joins the Dons Basketball Team
The University of San Francisco men’s basketball team has announced the addition of guard Aidan Braccia, who hails from Hillsborough, California. Braccia, who played previously at Belmont University, is expected to make a significant impact on the program.
Excited to Welcome Aidan Braccia
Head coach Chris Gerlufsen expressed his enthusiasm regarding Braccia’s signing: “Our Dons basketball family is thrilled to welcome Aidan Braccia to our program. Aidan, who is a Bay Area native, is a tough, highly-skilled guard who excels at shooting the basketball.” He added that the staff had been following Braccia’s progress since his high school days and holds high expectations for his future at the Hilltop.
Career at Belmont University
Braccia’s collegiate journey began at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he played under head coach Casey Alexander. Over three seasons, he participated in a total of 10 games, with his collegiate debut occurring against Furman on November 11, 2022. He scored his first collegiate point later that season in a match versus Trevecca Nazarene on December 6, 2022.
High School Achievements
Before his tenure at Belmont, Braccia was a prominent player at Sacred Heart Prep in Atherton, California. Under the guidance of coach Tony Martinelli, he earned recognition as a four-year letterwinner. Among his many accolades, he was a two-time Conference Player of the Year, team captain in his junior and senior years, and holds the title of all-time leading scorer at Sacred Heart with 1,461 points. He also achieved the best records in assists (306), steals (193), and three-point field goals made (222).
