SFUSD Launches New STEM Curriculum in Schools
San Francisco, CA – The San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) has introduced an enhanced STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) curriculum in all public schools, starting this semester. The program includes hands-on robotics labs, coding classes, and partnerships with local tech companies for mentorship opportunities.
“Our students deserve access to the skills that will define the future,” said SFUSD Superintendent Clara Ramirez. The curriculum, funded through state grants and private donations, aims to prepare students for careers in technology and science.
Parents and educators welcomed the initiative, with many noting its potential to close educational gaps. “This gives our kids a real chance to succeed,” said Maria Lopez, a parent from the Mission District. The program will be evaluated at the end of the school year for potential expansion.
