Startup Art Fair Returns to Hotel Del Sol After Hiatus
The Marina’s Hotel Del Sol is set to host over 60 art exhibitions this weekend as the Startup Art Fair makes its long-awaited comeback after a five-year pause due to COVID-19.
A Resurgence of Creativity
The Startup Art Fair, which last took place in 2019, transforms the vintage-style motor lodge into a vibrant gallery experience. Each room at the hotel will showcase individual art displays, a concept that has drawn significant attention since the fair’s inception.
According to the Bay Area News Group, the event will occur from April 18 to April 20, bringing together numerous artists and their unique works.
Art and Performance Lineup
This year’s fair promises standout installations and performances, including:
- Midori: A well-known local artist will perform on Sunday at 2 PM in a piece titled Godzilla vs The Golden Peril.
- Guta Gati: Brazilian performer will engage in a Saturday performance at 2 PM, featuring a chair made of lard.
- Margaret Timbrell: Artist will present her “Selfie Wall,” allowing attendees to get their names embroidered in humorous misspellings through autocorrect.
In addition to visual art, guests can enjoy craft cocktails, with DJs performing sets on both Friday and Saturday evenings.
