Tragic Crash in San Francisco: A Community Mourning
SAN FRANCISCO – A devastating multi-car accident in San Francisco has left one woman grieving the loss of her boyfriend, Mikhael Romanenko, and their dog, Keeper.
The Incident
Linh Luu, a survivor of the crash, described her and Romanenko’s plans for a future together, which were abruptly disrupted when a speeding Tesla driven by 66-year-old Jia Lin Zheng collided with their vehicle at the intersection of 6th and Harrison streets.
Authorities reported that the accident occurred after the driver was involved in a prior collision on Interstate 280 and fled the scene, resulting in an accident that injured seven others, including Luu.
Personal Loss
Luu shared her pain, expressing a desire to keep Romanenko’s memory alive. “He was a ball of joy,” she recalled. Describing him as kind, intelligent, and romantic, she emphasized how he brought happiness to those around him.
In her own words, Luu said, “I feel like I’m in a really bad dream, and I’m trying to wake up from it, so I can see him and hug him. And tell him how horrible this dream is.”
Details of the Crash
On the night of the incident, Luu and Romanenko were on their way to pick up family members for a trip to San Francisco International Airport. Luu described a sudden impact, followed by a loss of consciousness. “I was on a gurney. I was being wheeled into different doors,” she remembered.
When she regained awareness, an instinctual understanding of her losses set in. “You can feel their energy and I didn’t feel his. I couldn’t feel Keeper,” she said.
Justice and Memory
Currently, Luu is undergoing treatment for her injuries, including a concussion and broken bones, having left the hospital briefly to attend funeral services for her boyfriend and their dog. She expressed her determination for justice, reiterating the sentiments of District Attorney Brooke Jenkins, who highlighted the importance of a thorough investigation before making charging decisions.
“He took away a really, really great person,” Luu stated, emphasizing the significance of Romanenko’s legacy of kindness.
