San Francisco Launches Mental Health Hotline for Teens
San Francisco, CA – In response to rising mental health challenges among youth, San Francisco has launched a dedicated mental health hotline for teens. The hotline, staffed by trained counselors, offers 24/7 support and connects callers to resources like therapy and crisis intervention.
“Young people face unique pressures, and this service ensures they have somewhere to turn,” said Health Director Dr. Nina Patel. The hotline is part of a $15 million initiative to expand mental health services in schools and community centers.
Teens and parents have welcomed the program, with many praising its accessibility. The hotline, reachable at 1-800-TEEN-SF, is already receiving calls within hours of its launch.
