San Francisco’s “Green Friday” Promotes Sustainable Shopping
San Francisco, CA – Instead of Black Friday, San Francisco celebrated “Green Friday,” an initiative encouraging residents to shop locally and sustainably. Dozens of small businesses participated, offering discounts on eco-friendly products and hosting events focused on sustainability.
“This is about supporting our local economy while protecting the environment,” said event organizer Priya Menon. Shoppers flocked to stores in neighborhoods like Hayes Valley and the Mission, where businesses showcased products like reusable goods and handmade crafts.
Participating retailers reported a successful day. “Green Friday resonates with the values of this city,” said boutique owner Alex Tran. The initiative also included donation drives and workshops on reducing holiday waste.
