San Francisco Celebrates Thanksgiving with Annual Turkey Trot
San Francisco, CA – Thousands of runners and walkers participated in the city’s annual Turkey Trot this morning, a cherished Thanksgiving Day tradition. Held in Golden Gate Park, the event featured a 5K run, a kids’ fun run, and a costume contest, with many participants dressed as turkeys, pilgrims, and seasonal characters.
“This event brings the community together in the spirit of gratitude and giving back,” said Race Director Carla Chen. Proceeds from the race support local food banks and shelters, with over $150,000 raised this year.
Families cheered along the route, enjoying the festive atmosphere and crisp autumn weather. “It’s a fun way to start the holiday and give back at the same time,” said participant James Lopez. The event concluded with an awards ceremony and free hot cocoa for all.
