San Francisco Libraries Launch Holiday Book Giveaway for Kids
The San Francisco Public Library kicked off a holiday book giveaway, distributing over 20,000 free books to children across the city. The program, funded by local donations and grants, aims to promote literacy and encourage a love of reading among young residents.
“Books are the perfect gift—one that can spark a lifetime of curiosity and learning,” said SFPL Director Michael Lambert. Children were invited to select books from pop-up stations set up at library branches and community centers.
Parents praised the initiative for making books accessible to families who may not have the means to buy them. Officials plan to continue the giveaway as an annual holiday tradition.
