Thousands Celebrate Christmas at Grace Cathedral’s Midnight Mass
Grace Cathedral welcomed thousands of worshippers for its annual Midnight Mass, a cherished San Francisco tradition that brought together people of all faiths to celebrate Christmas. The service featured the cathedral’s renowned choir, stunning candlelit visuals, and a message of hope and unity.
“This service reminds us of the power of community and the importance of compassion,” said Dean Malcolm Clemens Young, who delivered the evening’s sermon. Families, tourists, and longtime residents filled the pews, while many others watched via a live stream.
Outside the cathedral, volunteers distributed hot meals and blankets to unhoused individuals as part of a citywide Christmas outreach effort. The event reflected San Francisco’s ongoing efforts to foster inclusivity and support those in need during the holiday season.
