San Francisco Blanketed by Rare Tule Fog
A rare weather phenomenon known as Tule fog enveloped parts of San Francisco today, creating an eerie yet beautiful atmosphere across the city. The dense fog, more commonly associated with California’s Central Valley, reduced visibility and disrupted transportation, including minor delays at San Francisco International Airport (SFO).
Residents marveled at the unique weather, with many taking to social media to share photos of iconic landmarks like the Golden Gate Bridge and Coit Tower shrouded in mist. “It’s like the city has been transformed into a dreamscape,” said local photographer Daniel Wong.
Despite the stunning visuals, officials urged caution for drivers, as the low visibility posed safety risks on the roads. Weather experts described the event as an anomaly, likely caused by an unusual combination of coastal and inland conditions.
