San Francisco Prepares for New Year’s Eve with Enhanced Safety Measures
As New Year’s Eve approaches, San Francisco announced enhanced safety measures for celebrations, including additional police presence and expanded public transportation services. The city expects over 200,000 attendees for its annual fireworks display along the Embarcadero.
“We want everyone to enjoy the festivities safely,” said Police Chief Bill Scott. Security measures include bag checks, drone monitoring, and designated safe zones for families. SFMTA will extend Muni and BART services to accommodate late-night revelers.
Local businesses along the waterfront are gearing up for a busy night, with many restaurants and bars offering special menus and events. Officials reminded residents to celebrate responsibly and take advantage of free public transit.
