San Francisco Kicks Off Annual Veterans Day Parade
San Francisco, CA – Thousands gathered along Market Street today to honor military service members at San Francisco’s annual Veterans Day Parade. The event featured marching bands, military vehicles, and speeches from local and national leaders.
“Today, we honor the sacrifices made by our veterans and their families,” said Mayor Carla Alvarez during her address. The parade was especially poignant this year as it included a tribute to first responders who played critical roles during the recent earthquake.
Veterans organizations set up booths along the parade route to provide information about resources, including housing and mental health services. The event concluded with a flyover by the California Air National Guard, earning cheers from the crowd.
