San Francisco Launches Earthquake Preparedness Campaign
San Francisco, CA – In the wake of the recent earthquake, San Francisco has launched an updated earthquake preparedness campaign, urging residents to create emergency kits, develop family plans, and sign up for alerts. The campaign, titled “SF Ready,” will include public service announcements, workshops, and community drills.
“Preparedness saves lives,” said Emergency Services Director Alex Chen. The campaign will focus on reaching vulnerable communities, including seniors, low-income residents, and non-English speakers, to ensure equitable access to resources.
Residents praised the initiative, though some called for more focus on retrofitting older buildings. City officials pledged to accelerate funding for seismic upgrades as part of a comprehensive safety plan.
