San Francisco, CA — The San Francisco Symphony performed a free outdoor concert at Golden Gate Park’s Music Concourse today, delighting thousands of attendees with a mix of classical and contemporary pieces.
The event, part of the Symphony’s Music for All initiative, featured works by Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, and a newly commissioned piece by a local composer. “This is about making music accessible to everyone,” said Symphony Music Director Esa-Pekka Salonen.
The concert ended with a standing ovation and promises of future free events.
