Exploring Alcatraz After Dark
The National Park Service announced the return of its popular Alcatraz Night Tours for the Halloween season, beginning October 1 and running through October 31, 2024. The after-dark tours offer visitors a chance to explore the historic prison island in a more haunting and atmospheric setting.
A Unique Experience for Visitors
The nighttime tours include guided walks, special exhibits, and stories about Alcatraz’s infamous inmates and escape attempts. “It’s a thrilling way to connect with history while experiencing the eerie beauty of the island at night,” said Park Ranger Mike Hughes.
Tickets in High Demand
Tickets for the night tours are expected to sell out quickly, as they remain one of San Francisco’s most popular seasonal attractions. Proceeds from the tours will go toward maintaining the island’s facilities and funding educational programs.
Preserving History Through Engagement
The event serves as both an educational and recreational experience, drawing tourists and locals alike. Organizers hope the tours will deepen appreciation for the island’s history while supporting ongoing preservation efforts.
