San Francisco Tests Drone Delivery Pilot Program
San Francisco, CA – The city has launched a six-month pilot program to test drone deliveries in select neighborhoods, aiming to reduce traffic congestion and carbon emissions. The program, a partnership between the city and a local tech startup, focuses on delivering medical supplies and small consumer goods.
“This initiative explores how technology can improve urban logistics and reduce our carbon footprint,” said Transportation Director Elena Cruz. Drones will operate in areas like the Mission District and Pacific Heights, using designated flight paths to minimize noise and disruption.
